EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Bernie Sanders just used Trump’s own fraud tip program against him, telling the president he had a “theft” to report at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Trump announced the Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program this week, a Justice Department-run initiative described as a $25 million effort to reward people who report suspected fraud involving federal funds. The program’s website says eligible tips that lead to criminal charges could qualify for rewards of up to $30,000.
Trump also told reporters he would “be the arbitrator” in deciding who gets paid if disputes arise.
Sanders responded on X with a jab aimed directly at the White House: “That’s great, Mr. Trump. I’d like to report a theft.”
